23rd Day of 40

Today, Sunday, October 11, 2020, is 23 days before the November 3, 2020 Election Day in the United States. The 40 days leading up to November 3 is designated as “The 40 Day Window of the Watchmen,” as a very special prayer event. If this is the first time you have heard of it, please join us. We set our prayer alarms at 9 AM; Noon: 3 PM; and 6 PM and pray a prayer similar to this: “FATHER, WE DECLARE OUR REPENTENCE OF OUR SINS; WE EXALT YOUR RIGHTEOUSNESS; WE EXPRESS OUR THANKFULNESS; WE LIFT OUR NATION BEFORE….PLEASE:FORGIVE US,UNIFY US,HELP US,DIRECT US,HUMBLE US,HEAL US,REVIVE US,RENEW US….”You don’t have to pray this prayer, just pray to God from your heart. The basic idea is that of repentance and thanksgiving. I was thinking over the last few days about how aging changes how you look at things. When I was a young adult I would always be trying to “out-think” and “out-talk” other people in conversations. I can’t remember exactly when (over the years) it didn’t matter any longer. I know what it was replaced with…..self-honesty AND accurate information. Fortunately we live in a day and age where we have a personal assistant to carry around that will keep us both honest AND accurate. I call my personal assistant “Dr. Google” (Ha!). I have heard people defend some of the most outrageous, untrue, and boastful things their “side” has proclaimed, just because their “side” proclaimed it, regardless of the honesty and accuracy of the thing that was stated. This behavior/habit/practice of defending your point of view or your side of an argument no matter the honesty or accuracy puts you on a direction that leads no where (really, really quickly). Eventually, the only thing you are holding on to is your own pride (because neither honesty or accuracy is on your side). It’s time. Jesus said, “the Kingdom of the Heaven is with in you.” (Meaning your heart). The ultimate preparation for the “Kingdom of Heaven” being in you is for the inside of your heart to be committed to an honest and accurate environment. We need to ALWAYS SEEK TO BE HONEST WITH GOD, WITH OURSELVES, AND WITH OTHERS, regardless of what the truth is or what I have to do to be an instrument of God’s honesty in my life. I may need to ask forgiveness and be forgiven or ask someone else to forgive me and be forgiven. HONESTY. I may need to change a long held opinion about someone or something. It could even make you uncomfortable to do so. It could be painful to be honest with yourself. There is no easy passage, however, the end result of Jesus’ promise–THE KINGDOM OF HEAVEN IS WITH IN YOU–is definitely worth it!We need to ALWAYS SEEK TO BE ACCURATE WITH GOD, WITH OURSELVES, AND WITH OTHERS. You can never develop spiritually if you aren’t accurate with your information. The other day I heard something from history being dropped into a debate (literally the Vice Presidential debate) the information being used was 75% accurate but the framing of the mostly accurate information was used completely out of context. It reminded me that you might be accurate about your tidbit of information, but if the context in which you are using your tidbit is manufactured or made up–then the entire thing you are saying is WRONG AND NOT ACCURATE. Just because you have information (or just a “factoid”), doesn’t mean you can wield your little factoid like a weapon against others. Further, accuracy is as much about your attitude as it is about the accuracy of your little tidbit. HONESTY AND ACCURACY. These are absolutely essential all the time but especially during the “40 Day Window of the Watchmen.” God Bless & Much Love, Marc & Marceil
