17th Day of 40

Today, Saturday, October 17, 2020, is 17 days from the November 3, 2020, Election Day in the United States. I believe these days before the election on November 3, 2020 is a “40 Day Window for the Watchmen of Prayer.” I am challenging everyone to set their prayer alarms for the “check in times of the ancient Watchmen” (the quarters of each day)–at 9 AM; NOON; 3 PM; 6 PM (at whatever time zone you live) and join Marceil and me in a prayer of repentance and thanksgiving. Please add whatever else you are holding on your prayer list as well, but especially a heart felt prayer for our nation during this “Window” of time. I have been posting a suggested prayer model just for your help if necessary: “FATHER, WE DECLARE OUR REPENTENCE OF OUR SINS; WE EXALT YOUR RIGHTEOUSNESS; WE EXPRESS OUR THANKFULNESS; WE LIFT OUR NATION BEFORE….PLEASE:FORGIVE US,UNIFY US,HELP US,DIRECT US,HUMBLE US,HEAL US,REVIVE US,RENEW US….”In helping us to understand God’s view of us coming to Him in prayer, Jesus taught us in the Book of Matthew–“If a son asks his father for a piece of bread, would he give him a stone? Or if he asked for a piece of fish, would the father give the son a snake?” (Further)–“If you who are evil in nature know how to give good gifts to those you love, HOW MUCH MORE SO DOES YOUR FATHER IN HEAVEN KNOW HOW TO GIVE GOOD GIFTS TO THOSE HE LOVES.” I want to talk about ASKING–SEEKING–KNOCKING in more detail, because it is tied into this context, but I think I will wait until tomorrow, God willing, BUT TODAY LETS CAMP OUT ON TWO OR THREE IDEAS JESUS EMPHASIZES in the quote above. 1. God’s love is deeper, wider, more expansive, more limitless, more unbelievable than we could ever contemplate. God has no limits–and neither does His love for us. If you are a parent, think of your love for your children. If you aren’t parent, think of your love for your own parents or spouse. None of our human examples of love can compare in even the smallest fraction to God’s love for you and me (and everyone we love). This isn’t some attempt at “sweet verse” It is a fact that when we pray, we need to picture in our minds the unconditional love of a Father.2. God would never/could never/will never SABOTAGE US!!! The Devil tries to trick us into believing there are conditions on the when/where/how we approach God. The Devil tries to make us believe about God what we used to believe about our own earthly fathers when they came home from work. At our house, you had to wait until Dad came home, checked the mail on the counter, eat his dinner, and read his paper, before you hit him up for anything you needed, any form of a request, or how you messed up. If you got things out of order–WATCH OUT!!! The thing is–THE LIVING GOD IS NOT LIKE THAT AT ALL. He desires to hear from you, about anything at any time. 3. God is FOR YOU, NOT AGAINST YOU. If there is something “off” in you or “off” about your approach, God will gently and lovingly help you redirect. QUIT BEING SCARED OF HIM. He loves you more than you could ever imagine and has your back more than any other person or thing on earth. BRING IT TO HIM/LAY IT ON HIM. God Bless & Much Love, Marc & Marceil
