16th Day of 40

Today, Sunday, October 18, 2020, is 16 days from the November 3, 2020, Election Day. We are well inside the “40 Day Window of the Watchmen of Prayer” that we launched almost 3 weeks ago. Even though we are closing into two weeks left, it is still time to be involved if you can at all. Here is what we have been doing: We set our prayer alarms for the 4 “Watches” of the day–9 AM; NOON; 3 PM; 6 PM; then we pray repentance of our sins and thankfulness for God’s provision. Finally, we will add different prayer requests we receive. Early on, I have been providing an example of a prayer if necessary. Whatever or however you pray, as long as it is from your heart, it is communication with God. Here is the prayer example if you would like: “FATHER, WE DECLARE OUR REPENTENCE OF OUR SINS; WE EXALT YOUR RIGHTEOUSNESS; WE EXPRESS OUR THANKFULNESS; WE LIFT OUR NATION BEFORE….PLEASE:FORGIVE US,UNIFY US,HELP US,DIRECT US,HUMBLE US,HEAL US,REVIVE US,RENEW US….”Yesterday I wrote about something Jesus spoke about strongly: God is not, God will not, God has not EVER sabotaged you! (“If you son asks you for a piece of bread would you give him a stone, or a fish would you give him a snake?”) The context for those questions of Jesus to us is covered with His three important teachings of how we become “friends of God” in our communication. Jesus lets us in on the family secret. (Come on, how many of us don’t want to be “in on” the family secrets? I know I do….) FAMILY SECRETS WHEN IT COMES TO PRAYER: FAMILY SECRET #1–ASK. “Ask and it will be given to you….(further)..For whoever “asks” receives.” Jesus told us that God “already knows what you have need of, even before you ask.” However, even though God knows, there is something about the humility, dependency, and even desperation that touches God at the deepest level. When we “ask” God for something, it shows that we are family to Him.FAMILY SECRET #2–SEEK. “Seek and you will find….(further)….And whoever “seeks” “finds.” Jesus is telling us to “walk the talk.” If you ask God for something, BELIEVE FROM THE TOP OF YOUR HEAD TO THE TIP OF YOUR TOES THAT YOU ARE GOING TO RECEIVE THAT THING OR THINGS YOU ARE ASKING GOD. We are family, and God is listening. ALWAYS. A typical example of walking it out is if you are praying for rain, then carrying an umbrella around with you. An “anti-example” is if you pray for rain and then complain of the drought, you are showing that you really aren’t family, you are a fraud. You can’t pray about something and complain about it too (and really be “family”). If you complain and claim you “are praying about it” you are practicing fraud. FAMILY SECRET #3–KNOCK. “Knock and the door will be open unto you….(further)…”And to him who knocks, the door will be open unto him.” Jesus is letting us in on something very, very special. God wants us to “create a huge scene” in our (prayer closet) with God. He doesn’t want us to create a spectacle to be seen by people, but in our prayer closet He wants us to knock so loud and so long it has to get His attention. Why? I don’t know, but I do know it is part of the “family secret.” God loves to hear us knock on His door–you and Him–loud and long. The second part of this family secret is–HE WILL ALWAYS OPEN THE DOOR! I hope this helps! God Bless & Much Love, Marc & Marceil
